Debbie considers it an honor and privilege to be part of young people’s journeys, encouraging them to step into their power, and navigate the challenging and stressful social world they are growing up in. It became clear to Debbie that our world changed overnight with the onset of Covid 19. Debbie has developed strategies that will inspire purpose and courage in teens to find their own unique path in this complicated world.

SOAR’s workshops will focus on creating community and engagement in a creative and fun environment while tackling the critical issues that youth are struggling with today.

At San Pedro Ballet School, we believe that we are not only training students in the art of dance, but we are training them in the lessons of life. We teach them how to be graceful and how to take care of their bodies. We teach them about responsibility, how to work well with others, and how to be a good team member. We teach them how to work hard for what they want, and how to deal with disappointment when they don’t get it. We teach them to make and accomplish goals, that it takes hours upon hours to master a skill, and that success does not happen over night. We provide opportunities to build confidence on stage, to make life-long friendships, and to create something beautiful.

Puttin’ On Productions (POPs) is a youth musical theater company based in the South Bay and is dedicated to creating a magical place where children can learn valuable life skills through the musical theatre production process. The mission of POPs is to train and educate youth in all aspects of theater.  Our goal is to aide in the development of life skills that will inspire our students to become exemplary artists, patrons, leaders and champions of the arts. Since 2007, POPs produces over 20 musical theater shows per year, conducts specialty workshops in tech theater, and provides training classes in the arts. POPs was formed with a goal to provide theatre education and training to all youth, regardless of background.  In 2015 POPs developed GRAACE Arts, which gives children with special needs the opportunity to be in a musical alongside our POPS students, at no cost.
